Sometimes it’ll start off really quietly
That you don't even realize the change
There’s a small doubt
The strange feeling starting to appear
Moments when things don't add up
But you’ll brush it off
Because you want to believe thats its true
Tricky, knowing the difference
Between what they say and what they did
Stuck being confused
Being told one thing and then told it wasn't true
What's the difference really?
Your holding onto what you think is true
But their voice gets louder
Until your thoughts aren't your thoughts anymore
Questioning your memory
Your reactions
The instincts that you have
Deep down knowing your were right all along
They had their fingers crossed
You'd remember the late calls, the late texts
Signs your kept brushing off
People trying to warn you about what they were doing
And now your wishing you listened
The signs were clear
Weren't hidden
Just your hope that was softened
Your say to yourself there busy
Tired, maybe
Overwhelmed
Anything but not telling the truth
But looking at the late night texts
Waiting for you to notice
Now the gas has been lit
Now your mind is spinning
Let make you feel like
your the most important person in the world
Until your not
This is the part that cuts the deepest
The way they'll lift you up
Dropping you without a warning
Making you feel like you were the one chose
But they made you feel invisible
In the next breathes you take
Now your seeing there pattern
There warmth came with conditions
The affection disappeared when you wanted it the most
Your confusing growing everytime
Trying to make sense of all the excuses
Inside that noise
A part of you is starting to wake
The one who remember who you are
Before they twisted your reality
Before they blurred your lines
Before you doubted your truth
This part of you is still here
Steady,
Quiet
Waiting for you to see it again.
