Hi! I’m Caroline, a college student and the founder of The Writer’s Corner, who writes both poetry and journalist reports that are informational or just for fun! After I transitioned from being a full-time military child to the child of a retired veteran, I had realized that I wanted to build an outlet. Not only for me, but one day I hope to open it up to a community of writers or a possible future creative team.
This blog is where I share my poetry, journalism, and creative process pieces that showcase the steps to get to the final product. Essentially, this creative outlet will serve as a passion project to hold me accountable in all of my writing and authorship goals for the future.
At first it seemed to be a daunting task to attempt building this entire creative space from scratch, but I work alongside some of my best friends that have helped make this blog possible. This is not only a thank you to my friends, some of them I've met along the way. With that, I am currently the President of the Creative Writing Club at my university so a good chunk of them were met there! It was such a relief that I was able to locate a group of such like-minded people without only resorting to social media. Although social media is a good marketing and outreach technique, I made it my personal mission not to just rely on that!
My goal is to make writers who wish to be a part of a community feel less alone, inspire creativity, and build a community of writers on my own. Whether you’re a student, a creative, or someone just looking to read, I hope you find something here that you relate to, connect with, or feel helpful to you.
I started this as a 17-year-old college freshman, studying English with a minor in secondary education, building a community and creating content across different social media platforms. I’m always learning as I go, and I’m inviting you to join the growth as my blog gains traction and creatively grows with me.

I’m Gracey Duprel from Latta, South Carolina. I write historical romance and mystery romance books. I try to post as much as I can on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. A fun fact, or a few, about me is that I’m the oldest of eight (8) siblings and I did marching band in high school. What inspires my creative process is writing alongside other writers by livestream or watching other writers write to help me get out of a slump (a.k.a. writer’s block).

I’m an AuDHD 19-year-old trans-masculine writer majoring in journalism with a minor in Film and Content Production from Lexington, SC. I primarily write short stories, poems, songs, and general informative/opinion pieces; in terms of genres, I write horror, fantasy, slice of life, and romance when the time calls for it. A fun fact about me is that I do community theatre whenever time allows and was even a board member at Village Square Theatre from 2024-2026. What inspires me most is horror, music, musicals, and whatever piece of media I’m obsessed with this week.

Hi, I'm Kayla, I am a writer, storyteller, and creative voice shaped by the small town of Latta, SC that I grew up in. My writing often centers around themes of identity, power, romance, and transformation. I’m especially drawn to fantasy and romance, where I can build immersive worlds while exploring real-life issues like betrayal, societal expectations, and personal growth. Beyond writing, I’m also passionate about creative expression through movies in particular horror as it is my favorite genre. I also create content on professional wrestling which is another passion of mine, that I hope to share. A fun fact about me is that when I was in high school I tore my ACL in a golf tournament and still won. I do not recommend it. My creative process is inspired by my personal experiences, the media I consume, and my desire to represent voices and stories that are often overlooked. I write not just to entertain, but to make people feel seen.

Hi! My name is Landon and I’m from Columbia, South Carolina. I don’t really write, but I love music and singing. I am an opera singer! I love to dissect and take apart different songs from forms of media and find musical moments that show the true beauty and language that is expressing yourself through music. Some fun things about me are that I’ve been in over 40 musicals and sing solo music in 6 different languages. I’m inspired to keep going with my passion every day, even when it’s tough because I know that if I just keep working hard, I can make a name for myself. I will serve as the community moderator for The Writer’s Corner, and am excited for all of y’all to see the hard work each and every member has put into this project!

Hello, my name is Neo! I am from the United States, but specifically rural South Carolina. I like to write poems, short stories, and am working on some longer works. I primarily enjoy Slice of life, horror, and sociological perspectives when it comes to writing, but anything is on the table. I am honestly all over the place when it comes to what I do! I’m currently pursuing a Sociology and Computer Science major with a Spanish minor in college; but I’ve also taken multiple collegiate art courses. Literature is very important and so is education, which inspires my creative process. Writing has a special place in my heart due to the chance it can cause, not only in one’s life, but in the lives of others as well.
